Erecting Obelisk

Shroud of Turin

Back
1. Build a Rock Sand Pit ( Figure A).

Fill sand pit with sand.
Compact sand with water.

2. Deliver the Obelisk and place over sand pit (Figure B), so that the ‘Pivot Point’ of
the Obelisk is aligned with the edge of the sand pit (Figure C).

3. Remove side walls of the sand pit,
(beginning with ‘Pivot’ side), (Figure D)
and remove sand under the ‘Pivot’
side of the Obelisk.

Continue to remove sand under the
‘Pivot’ side of the Obelisk, (Figure E),
until the Obelisk settles in an upright
position, (Figure F).

Remove the remainder of the
Temporary Fill and Sand Pit walls.

Please Note:
Small scale experiments conducted to examine the above process were successful, resulting with a displacement of a heavy object from a horizontal to vertical position without any physical or hydrolic assistance nor involving any pushing or pulling.

Of course, the ‘Point of Pivot’ can vary for different objects.

Once the sand starts to be withdrawn though the side walls, the erection process becomes quite fast.

No part of the above illustrations are shown to scale.
